Barbara A. Soltz, CEO
Barbara received her BS and MS in Chemistry from St. Louis University, St. Louis, MO and a PhD with honors in Chemistry from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Following a postdoctoral fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis, she joined McDonnell Douglas Aerospace Company. Barbara remained with McDonnell Douglas for 14 years. During that time, she became director of research at McDonnell Douglas Optoelectronics Center located in Elmsford, NY. There she designed and developed their first direct diode laser photodynamic therapy (PDT) system, to be used in pre-clinical experimental trials. In 1993, Barbara founded Conversion Energy Enterprises as a consulting firm to provide electro optic and electronic design concepts for diode-based applications.

Barbara is co-author of over 30 research publications in the areas of optics, diode laser devices, and wound repair and healing. She has been awarded eight patents, with four patents pending in related antimicrobial technology. Barbara has served on the New York State Technical Evaluation Board for the evaluation of semiconductor and diode laser research in New York State Universities and has given SPIE courses in diode laser product development for medical applications.

Robert Soltz, VP Engineering
Bob received his BS in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon in Pittsburgh, PA. He then joined McDonnell Douglas, where he accrued over 30 years of experience in designing electronics for defense hardware, lasers, and fiber optics. Bob co-founded Conversion Energy Enterprises in 1993 and joined the consulting team to provide expert advice in microelectronics and electro optics.

Bob is co-author of 15 research publications in diode laser activated biomaterials for medical applications, and has been awarded four patents in this area.
